Senior Design Expo Winners

Lee College of Engineering student teams had to work remotely for the final six weeks of their Senior Design projects, which added a new challenge to the two-semester projects. The traditional Senior Design Expo in the UNC Charlotte Student Activity Center could not be held, so all teams had to present their projects virtually for judging.

The Spring 2020 Virtual Expo was held April 29, 2020, with more than 540 students participating. There were 25 Senior Design II second-semester project teams presenting project videos and/or a poster. There were 34 Senior Design I first-semester teams presenting voice-embedded posters.

Some highlights of the virtual Expo included:

Jim Hartman, director of the Senior Design program, presented Lee College of Engineering Dean Bob Johnson a special appreciation award for all his years of support of the program. Dean Johnson will be stepping down as dean in June.
