Senior Operations Manager, GE Aviation
David is twice an alumni of UNCC, completing his BSME in 1982, and his MBA in 1991. He served 6 years on active duty in the US Navy’s Nuclear Power Program, and eventually retired as a Commander from the Naval Reserves.
After a short stint in Washington DC as a defense consultant, he spent the next 10 years in various project management roles implementing large capital equipment projects for PPG and US Filter.
He joined General Electric's Appliances business in 1999 and had assignments as a Manufacturing Engineer in Decatur, Alabama and as a Six Sigma Black Belt in Louisville, Kentucky. In 2002, he joined the integration team of a new acquisition in GE Oil & Gas and moved his young family to Karlsruhe, Germany. For 12 years, he progressed through several roles in both Operations and Engineering, eventually becoming Global Engineering Leader and Managing Director of a pipeline inspection company.
David recently moved his family back to North Carolina, and is leading an initiative to optimize Cash Generation within the Rotating Parts Value Stream of GE Aviation.
