Niner Business Network

Are you a UNC Charlotte alumnus(a) that owns a business? Or do you want to help support alumni-owned businesses? If so, you will want to check out the new Alumni Association initiative launched to help connect you with fellow alumni in the business community: the Niner Business Network. This resource allows alumni-owned businesses to submit their information to be posted here on the online alumni community. Then you can support your fellow 49ers. Alumininer Card & Perks Benefits Program

The University of North Carolina, Charlotte is proud to offer numerous services and benefits to our alumni. When you join the Alumni Association, you will receive a free Alumni PERKS card that can be used for discounts to local and regional businesses covering food, entertainment, fitness, retail, services, and education. Other Alumniner programs include a global travel program and virtual book club. Joining is free, so sign up today!

UREC Membership

On Jan. 8, 2020, UNC Charlotte opened the University Recreation Center (UREC). The 148,000-square-foot building is the University’s first and only campus facility dedicated solely to health and recreation. UREC offers members of the campus and alumni community multiple levels of dedicated fitness and recreation space designed to steer users toward a lifetime of healthy habits. Those who graduated from UNC Charlotte with a degree and have registered with the Alumni Association office as a Perks Card holder are eligible to become UREC members.

Library

Atkins Library continues to be a great educational resource for UNC Charlotte Alumni even after graduation! Registering for the Alumni PERKS program will give you free remote access to JSTOR, and you can even use your PERKS card to check out materials from the library. Alumni are also given access to the library through the Friends of Atkins Library card. Benefits include:

  • Borrowing up to 6 books for 21 days with 2 renewals
  • Invitations to all library events and selected campus events
  • Library Newsletters and Annual Reports

The University Career Center offers many services and programs to alumni including:

  • Career Coaching
  • Resume and Cover Letter Review
  • Interview Preparation
  • Professional Headshots
  • Salary Negotiations

Alumni can speak with a career advisor in person, over the phone, or virtually. The key to managing a successful career is planning, so visit the Career Center to take advantage of these comprehensive resources and services!

Continuing Education

The Office of Continuing Education offers a variety of prep courses for the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE/EIT) and Professional Engineering (PE) licensure exams, in addition to professional development certificates and programs. Alumni who register for the University’s Alumni PERKS program will receive a 10% discount on the registration fee.

Further Education

The William States Lee College of Engineering strongly believes advanced education is critical in today’s global economy. We encourage those who have the time and interest to consider earning their Masters or PhD degrees at UNC Charlotte’s College of Engineering. To learn more, visit the individual department websites or the college’s graduate programs website for more specific information and eligibility requirements. The Graduate School also offers information about applying to graduate school.

Transcripts

The Office of the Registrar provides transcripts of a student’s official UNC Charlotte academic record for both undergraduate and/or graduate course work upon request, either online or in person. Visit the Office of the Registrar’s website.
