BAC Excellence in Leadership Program

The UNC Charlotte Black Alumni Chapter (BAC) Excellence in Leadership program was established in 2011 under the leadership of former BAC President Dr. Gregory Davis '76. The purpose of the program is to recognize the accomplishments of UNC Charlotte alumni and friends in the greater Charlotte region who have achieved excellence in the areas of Education, Entrepreneurship, Financial Services, Healthcare, Philanthropy, Public Service and Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). Nominations for the 2019 awards will be announced in the summer. In 2018, College of Engineering alumna Tiffani Teachey, '03, '05, was selected as the Excellence in Leadership award recipient for her contributions to STEM. Tiffani earned her undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering and her master’s degree in engineering management, and is now a senior chemical/systems engineer with Westinghouse Electric Company. She has served on various boards within in the community including Charlotte Chamber Young Professionals, UNC Charlotte Black Alumni Chapter and Sterling Math & Science Foundation and received the 2018 UNCF Maya Angelou Women Who Leads Award.
