Students declaring an engineering major are placed in the first level math course based on transfer math credit. All engineering majors must have a transfer GPA of at least 2.5 and must complete Pre-Calculus (i.e. Math 175) with a grade of C or better in order to be admitted to an engineering program.
All transfer students admitted to an engineering technology or construction management major are placed in the first level math course based on transfer math credit except for students seeking Calculus course transfer credit. Students seeking Calculus course transfer credit will be required to take a Calculus placement exam administered by the department during SOAR. Performance on the Calculus placement exam will determine the student's placement in Calculus courses (i.e. MATH 1121, ETGR 2171, ETGR 2272, or ETGR 3171).
