Civil Engineering Alumna Named “30 Under 30”

Six UNC Charlotte alumni including 2012 Civil Engineering graduate Melissa Oliver are among Charlotte Agenda’s 2017 class of “30 Under 30.” These individuals are “young people who are leaving their marks on the city like never before,” according to the website.

Mellisa Oliver (’12) is a civil engineering designer at LandDesign. She is credited with designing some of Charlotte’s newest urban additions, including 500 East Morehead and the New Bern Station Development. Oliver holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University.

Other UNC Charlotte alumni include in the list are:
Laura Knight Beebe (’13) is art director at BooneOakley. She has been the graphic designer behind a number of campaigns in Charlotte, including the N.C. Craft Brewers Guild. She earned a bachelor’s degree in fine arts.

Ashley Pittman Bookout (’11) is owner and founder of Bookout Blooms. She earned a bachelor’s degree in English.

Brian Mister (’13) completed a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He is marketing director of Run for Your Life and the Novant Health Charlotte Marathon.

Ghada Ternanni (’16) is a finance management analyst for Bank of America. Her bachelor’s degree is in business administration.

Ash Williams (’15, ’16) is a local community organizer. Williams completed a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and a Master of Arts in Ethics and Applied Philosophy from UNC Charlotte.
