None.

Graduate tuition waiver policy OMB821 applies to us; this regulation has been emphasized in the last three years and auditors are paying attention to these regulations. Graduate tuition waivers as applied to federal research grants must be paid out as compensation and included in a student’s income. This is done through the payroll office and can be paid out in a lump sum at the beginning of the semester. There will be a few students that will need income withheld. State-funded tuition waivers are still paid out as scholarships. Faculty will need to advise students that the tuition payment is in their paycheck, and they will be responsible to pay the tuition themselves. A concern was raised about students’ handling of the money. A suggestion was offered that the students sign an approval to have the tuition deducted from the paycheck

Chair for Reassignment of Duties committee, Ed Braun. Dr. Zbigniew Ras was nominated and elected by acclamation.

Mr. Yancey presented a multimedia demonstration of the web-based resources that are available for faculty and students to research academic information.
