In support of "Exponential: The Campaign for UNC Charlotte," the Lee College of Engineering held a reception for alumni and friends of the College on March 2nd, hosted by Civil Engineering alumnus, Bill Crowder, Class of 1975.
"We were able to share the impact of the Lee College of Engineering has had over the last 50 years as one of the finest academic engineering institutions in the Southeast and especially in the North Carolina and Charlotte region," Crowder said. "Through exponential we will increase our growth trajectory as our talented students and expert researchers solve today's problems and prepare to tackle the challenges of the future."
The reception highlighted the future growth areas of the College in conjunction with UNC Charlotte's $200 million capital campaign. Contributions will support the college's mission of providing exponential rewards for students and faculty, and continue to be an economic engine to the region.
"I am proud of our students," Crowder said. "It was a pleasure to meet and converse with many of our scholarship students and witness first-hand their drive to be the best. I am committed to doing my part to ensure the success of current and future students. To provide momentum for the campaign and to validate my commitment to the College, I announced a $100,000 matching gift to coincide with gifts to the College totaling $100,000. The Lee College of Engineering holds a special place for me in my heart. My career and adult life have benefitted greatly from my experiences as a student and engaged alumnus.
